01 / What is Legal Mosaic?

Legal business transformation.
Connecting the pieces.

Mark A. Cohen founded Legal Mosaic, a strategic advisory and education consultancy, to align the legal function with business and society, then integrate it across them to unlock greater value.

The name reflects Mark’s conviction that law is an integral part of a larger commercial and societal whole, and his love of the arts. Like a mosaic, his work brings the pieces together through critical thinking and creative problem solving to address constant, accelerating, and interconnected change.

Many experiences.
An integrated perspective.

Mark A. Cohen

Mark’s perspective connects the experience of a civil trial lawyer, business leader, technology entrepreneur, author, and educator. It is grounded in the needs of clients, enterprises, and society.

A diverse legal practice background

  • Decorated Assistant United States Attorney
Southern District of Florida civil trial lawyer; tried 21 significant cases. Co-lead trial counsel in Louis v. Nelson and lead counsel in related en banc Eleventh Circuit proceedings; recognized by the US Department of Justice for trial excellence.
  • Big Law partner
Became the youngest partner at Finley Kumble, a national law firm, bringing major civil-litigation experience to complex commercial representations.
  • Founder and Managing Partner
Built a multi-city national civil litigation firm; personally represented five sovereign nations and 67 Fortune 500 companies. Led a $1 million, 90-day digital integration of three offices, shared knowledge resources, and client communications.
  • General counsel to three insurance companies
Provided strategic legal and commercial counsel, adding the client’s perspective to his work as an advocate and adviser.
  • Federally appointed Receiver
Appointed by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York to oversee an international aviation-parts business. Managed its operations under federal-court supervision for ten years while continuing to practice law.

Transforming legal delivery

  • Co-founder and Managing Partner, Clearspire
Pioneering two-company model—a law firm and managed services company, connected by Coral, a proprietary cloud platform integrating matters, workflows, budgets, documents, and client communications.
  • Distinguished Scholar, Singapore Academy of Law
Initially appointed inaugural LIFTED Catalyst-in-Residence. Worked with senior government, judicial, finance, business, technology, legal, and academic leaders to advance legal innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and Singapore’s digitally transformed legal ecosystem.
  • Digital Legal Exchange / LLI
Co-founded and led a global not-for-profit community of approximately fifty multinationals and multidisciplinary faculty. Initiated and helped engineer its union with LLI; serves as Chairman Emeritus of the continuing community.
  • Forbes regular contributor
During a ten-year stint as a regular contributor, Mark published approximately 350 articles at the intersection of law, business, and society. His beat spanned enterprise and legal transformation, AI, talent and workforce change, leadership, client value, the rule of law, and legal access.
  • Accenture Luminary Network
As a Luminary Market Executive Advisor, Mark contributed strategic perspectives on enterprise and legal transformation, AI, business-model reinvention, and technology adoption—challenging conventional approaches and informing client strategy. Accenture describes its Luminaries as part of “an established network of external experts and thought leaders.”

Mark has long maintained that business—not organic legal change—is reimagining the legal function in a digital, AI-enabled world. That view has been forged by Mark’s experience in business, cutting-edge technology companies, and his diverse legal practice.

03 / Clients, access, and impact

Transformation starts with those law must serve.

Business and its customers

Law intersects with the Board, C-suite, finance, sales, risk management, and regulatory and compliance functions. Transformation begins with their needs and the outcomes legal can help create.

Society and access to law

Those unable to access legal services must also shape their redesign. Accessible, effective legal protection supports commerce, personal freedoms, democracy, and social cohesion.

A trillion-dollar market is not the measure of law’s value. The opportunity extends beyond legal spend: a reimagined delivery platform can create business and societal impact. Alignment, integration, and improved outcomes—not technology alone—are the test.
